Hey beautiful humans!

I asked what people wanted to read about & I got a ton of responses asking for a post on ‘Ways to Self-Motivate’. So, you ask & you shall receive.

Here are 10 things that get me motivated for anything & everything:

A Good Read – Nothing like an inspirational, self-love, all about personal growth book to get you going. Seriously – find a book & stick to it (even if it’s just one chapter to get you feeling optimistic)

  • ‘Girl, Stop Apologizing’ Rachel Hollis
  • ‘Girl, Wash Your Face’ Rachel Hollis
  • ‘You Are a Badass’ Jen Sincero
  • ‘Unfuck yourself’ Gary John Bishop

Hype Girl (or man) – Find your person, someone you can be open & brutally honest with. Let them know when you’re lacking ambition & motivation – they can tell you what you need to hear & give you that little push to get you going. MUST find your person.

Make It Public – What better way to be held accountable than to become public? Let people know what you’re doing or what you want. Announcing your goals to all of your social media following is intimidating, because then they know & they WILL BE looking for results.

Find Influencers – Find someone – anyone, on social media that you just can’t help but creep on everyday. Someone that you look at & find yourself appreciating on so many levels. Someone you aspire to be more like. Whether this person has the body you are working towards, the personality, the optimism, the job, the family, the relationship – whatever you’re working on this will remind you of the end goal!

Quote it up – Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Google, Tumblr – whichever platform you prefer, find a page with inspirational quotes. Screenshot them, write them in a notebook, sticky note them all over your walls, voice record them – submerge yourself in powerful words = feeling more powerful.

Videos – If you want to find the motivation to workout – watch workout videos. If you want to find the motivation to cook – watch cooking videos. If you want to find the motivation to practice an instrument – watch a video of that instrument being played…..So on & so forth!

Make a to-do list – Think it, write it, do it, cross it off. The feeling of seeing a list of things to do is stressful, so imagine the feeling you get when you can cross those things off of the list. Yeah…sounds nice, doesn’t it?

Think of your loved ones – You’d do anything for the people you love, right? So think about them. Use them to get you going. Whether it be your kids, your pets, your significant other or your family as a whole – thinking of them will hopefully get to going.

Playlist – Create a list of those feel good songs. You know – the songs that make you want to get up & dance or scream at the top of your lungs in the car because you feel that song so deep in your soul!!! Create the playlist, turn it up to 10 & put it on repeat.

Think of yourself – This should be a go to every time. If there’s something that you want so badly for yourself – why wouldn’t you work your ass off to get it? This is your life, work for what you want – so that you can have it. It’s simple – why wouldn’t you use your own happiness to get motivated?

There you have it, my go-to list for getting motivation. I hope you find one, or even a couple that you decide to give a try & I hope they work for you.

Much love, Nicole
