Self love and positivity- we all need it

Self help, self love, self care, whatever you may call it – we all need some of it, well, a lot of it.

I get it, trying to find a light in a dark hole is hard sometimes, but finding that first ray of sunshine is only the beginning–don’t stop there! I’ve been working on myself for quite some time now and it has not been an easy journey. Often times, we see things on social media…all these positive people and we think, ‘Wow, they sure do have it together, I wish I could be that happy’, here’s the thing – you can be! And I promise, everyone has struggles-you’re not alone.

Find what works for you, you will trouble shoot this more times than you can count, but little by little you will figure it all out.

Now here’s what im really trying to get at:

I am a strong believer in “you can not help others until you have helped yourself”. I used to not understand this, but it’s true, you can’t put yourself on the back burner and try to help everyone else with their problems.. You may be helping someone else, but you’re leaving yourself in the dust in the meantime. HOWEVER – once you have helped yourself – don’t forget to help those around you. Help the ones you can see are struggling to find themselves, get them up and go out and do things with them.

You’d be surprised how far a quick happy-go-lucky text will get someone. Use that positive energy you’ve provided yourself and help someone dear to you, that’s an easy place to start. Give them that same love and positivity you feel, baby steps-this won’t happen overnight just as it didn’t for you-be patient, you’d want the same when you needed it. The energy you give out is what you’re likely to receive! So GO! Brighten someone’s day! They might be needing that one simple text just to put a smile on their face. Go to the beach, enjoy the sunshine, roll the windows down and scream your favorite songs.. Bring someone with you for the ride and make a great day for the both of you
