Hello Babes,
Every once in a while we tend to fall into a slump; even the best of the best have bad days. Then, there are the weeks that feel never ending. It’s just one thing after another. Let’s just say that has been the past few days for me. I’m here at university, so classes are dwindling down but the stress is rising. Along with countless other things that have been thrown at me the past week, I am totally ready for it to be all over. We’ve all had these kind of weeks, right!?
Well, today I got the cure to rebounding from a crap week. This post is for all the girls out there that have had things being thrown at them non-stop and you still choose to wake up every day and kick ass. I got the tips and tricks for you to keep hustling and not letting the haters hold you back.
Here are my 5 ways to rebound from a crap week:
- Take care of yourself: Sleep in. Treat yourself to your favorite meal. Enjoy a cup of coffee from your favorite coffee shop. Take a bath. Read a book or magazine. Take a walk, or a run. Drink a glass of wine, or five. Listen to your favorite playlist. Do whatever will awaken and refresh your soul. Taking care of yourself is the very first step to bouncing back from a rough week.
- Learn from your mistakes: Take whatever you experienced in the last week and turn it into something good. Every failure makes for a great lesson to be learned, perspective is everything. You must adjust your mindset to see the good in all situations, even after the most stressful and horrible week. We all have bumps in the road; the road to success is not always perfectly paved, it is in fact rather bumpy. Life throws us a lot of curve balls, and it’s not about what’s being thrown at you but it’s how you react to it. Don’t let the little things weigh too heavily on your mind, brush them off, learn from them and move on.
- Refocus your goals: After a crazy week, your goals can be a little disorganized. Even if they aren’t, this is a perfect way to get your mind refocused on what’s important. You may be feeling uninspired and unmotivated, and reevaluating your current goals will remind you of what you are working toward. Ask yourself if you are on track to accomplish these things you want, and if the answer is no, adjust accordingly.
- Get Motivated: Relating to the one above, use the past week as a motivator to do better the next week. Use the crap from the past week to motivate you toward your goals. I have been recently motivated to hustle a little harder and prove some people wrong. Don’t let other people’s thoughts influence how you think about yourself, but there is nothing wrong with a little motivation from some haters. Take no shit and continue slaying your goals.
- Remain Positive: Easier said than done, but this is the only way to truly combat the crappy week from continuing. Start each day with positive affirmations and write some of your favorite quotes in your agenda. This always helps me keep a positive mind. If you blame the universe, and just call yourself unlucky, the bad luck will continue. You have to see the positives! Staying positive relates to the part where you accept the mistakes and move forward. Understand that you cannot change them, and bad things are going to happen in life, but you have to just look yourself in the mirror and just say “things will get better”. You have to believe in that statement though. No situation is forever, remember that.
One bad week does not define you. Use these tips to get back on track. Every day is a new day to start new, use that opportunity to turn your luck around. Trust me, I know the struggle of trying to bounce back from a week of hell. The key is your mindset.
When you are out there hustling, people are going to get in the way and try to knock you down. The best way to fight that is by not fighting at all. Smile at the haters and thank them for the motivation to do better. If it’s your to do list that kicked your butt, take a step back and realize the things you are capable of handling. These bad weeks are the worst, but they show us our true strength. You can handle anything you put your mind to, hence the quote shared above. Turn on your tunes, grab a coffee and handle that shit.
When in doubt, remember the lyrics from Fighter by Christina Aguilera: “‘Cause it makes me that much stronger, makes me work a little bit harder. It makes me that much wiser. So thanks for making me a fighter. Made me learn a little bit faster, made my skin a little bit thicker, makes me that much smarter.” You’re a fighter!
So, whether it feels like the world is out to get you or it feels like nothing is going right, remember the outcome is up to you. It’s okay to have a rough week, learn from it and keep pushing forward. We must experience bad things to appreciate the good things.
