“Visualize your highest self and start showing up as her”

What if we all started showing up as the person we want to be? You know, the confident, funny, dream chasing, goal achieving, best self version of you. Why do we let fear stop us? You should go on that vacation, pursue that career, spend more time with your family, adopt that dog from the shelter, make more time for yourself or go after whatever you are wanting. I was asked in 2019 what I would do if fear didn’t stop me, and I would do ALL OF THE THINGS, because living outside of my comfort zone means growth and opportunity.

“Fear is a feeling triggered by a perception of danger, real or imaginary.”

My goal is to push past fear, even when it’s not easy. I want to stop making excuses because I could be holding myself back. Go for whatever it is that you want because life is too short not to, it goes by in the blink of an eye.  Losing some people that I love has made me realize the reality of life. Life can throw some curveballs you weren’t expecting, and it isn’t always fair but there is so much good in the world. I have to remember all the good in this world, and keep my heart soft, and vulnerable.

I know that when we do things that are out of our comfort zone, it takes a ton of courage. It’s easier said than done, let’s be honest. On the flip side of fear, think of how badass you are, and how empowering it is that you are going after your dreams even if it’s hard. Achieving goals takes hard work, and time. Typically dreams aren’t built overnight, great things take time. No one likes being uncomfortable, and there’s no need to go way out of your comfort zone, take it one step at a time. A step is a step, progress is progress. When you do something you’ve never done before, that’s when you grow. If things don’t turn out the first time, you can always take away a lesson that you’ve learned from the experience. Use that lesson to help you improve at your next shot.

My motivation to keep me going for my goals is my wife, and family, they are my reasons why. They keep me going and on the bad days, I know I can depend on them to help keep me motivated and focused.

Sometimes, things don’t go as planned and we have to roll with the punches to figure things out. I’m sure we all can think of a time that something didn’t work out the exact way we wanted it to, and most of the time, we’re thankful for that and the way it did work out in the end.

Chasing my dreams has been a lot easier when I started creating plans! Putting my goals, into plans and then my plans into actions. I like to give myself realistic time frames to achieve things. I celebrate all of the wins along the way and look for opportunities for growth too.

This year has already been filled with some cool accomplishments.

Here are some of my accomplishments so far in 2020:

* Put air in my tire by myself

* Better at budgeting & savings

* Learned how to make burgers 🍔

* Planning for a family

I’m stoked about how this year is going so far and it’s just the beginning!

Go after your dreams, life is short and you should make the best of it and make sure you applaud yourself for all the things you are accomplishing. Especially the little things that you don’t give yourself enough credit for like getting up and going to work, or making time for you.

Make sure you take time to slow down and appreciate the little things in life like being able to enjoy a latte, or two. Take a second to ask someone how their day is or hold open the door for the person behind you.

Think about where you are right now, and not always where you are planning to be this week, this month or even this year. It’s important to keep goals in mind but not to obsess over them. You need to enjoy life, be present and in the moment.

Keep chasing your goals babe, but don’t forget to stop and appreciate the little things.
