Hello Beautiful Humans,
Well, after a month of exploring Dallas and spending time with David, I finally bring you a post all about my time there and some of my favorite spots in Dallas.
Dallas is an absolutely beautiful and fun city, which I highly recommend visiting. Although the weather can be hot, especially during the summer, there is still lots to do. Even though I was there for a month, I still feel like I didn’t see and do all that I could have. The city has lots of different districts and areas to visit. Here are a few of my favorite spots:
Deep Ellum:
Deep Ellum is a vibrant part of Dallas that offers nightlife, restaurants and beautiful art. I was able to visit this area a few times during my stay. It was definitely one of my top favorite spots in the city.
Possum Kingdom Lake:
Possum Kingdom State Park and Lake is about two hours outside of Dallas but definitely worth the drive. We spent Labor Day weekend here camping and hiking with a couple of friends. There was beautiful landscape and the countryside was so quaint. The boys tried some cliff jumping near Hell’s Gate. It was an amazing adventure!
Coffee Shops:
At each of these places, I tried a Honey Lavender Latte (my current favorite) and they all were delicious! My favorite latte was from Magnolias. I wish I had a chance to visit a few more coffee shops, but I was happy to stop at these three.
Restaurants + Bars:
- Moxies Grill + Bar
- The Trophy Room
- Kung Fu Saloon
- Mia’s Tex Mex
- Dots Hop House
Activities:
- Dallas Art Museum
- This museum had diverse collections and something for everyone. I typically enjoy modern art or impressionism, which I was happy to see a mix of both. They had lots of Monet too! (one of my personal faves)
- Dallas Botanical Garden
- The Botanical Gardens were absolutely amazing. There was so much to explore and it was totally worth sweating our faces off. (110 degree day!!!)
- Bird Scooters
- Rent bird scooters and explore the city!
- Dallas Aquarium
- This aquarium is set up super fun! You start at the top of the “rainforest” and work your way down to the ocean floor. From sloths and exotic birds to sharks and sting rays, you’ll see all sorts of beautiful creatures. It’s worth the pricey entrance fee.
- NorthPark Mall
- This mall is massive and dangerous for any shopaholic. They offer a number of unique stores.
I loved spending time with David and having the opportunity to explore a new city. Dallas is definitely one of my favorite spots now. I will most likely not be moving there, for those that may be wondering. If I was to find a full-time position, I would consider it but my career intentions are not near Dallas. David will also only be there temporarily for his work.
I look forward to visiting again soon! Thank you for reading my recap and I hope you find it helpful if you ever plan to visit Dallas.
Stay tuned for my next adventure…
I am so glad you had a great visit. Sounds like some cool places. I have wanted to visit the Silos in Waco TX. Maybe see Chip and Joannea
